Congregational Study

Luke's Epiphany

As Christians, and as a Christian congregation, we are called to share Christ with our

neighbors, friends, and family. In this modern age and culture, it’s hard enough for

Christians to maintain a steadfast faith in the divinity and lordship of Christ. It’s even

more challenging for us to try to introduce non-believers to Jesus, and to help them

come to see Christ as the true Son of God and their Savior from sin.

Over the next several weeks, let’s explore together what one inspired Christian writer

had to share about Jesus to his contemporaries. You’re invited to be part of a

congregational study during the Epiphany season, focusing on St. Luke’s view and

portrayal of Jesus. In our congregational study, titled Luke’s Epiphany, we’ll utilize

Sunday sermons, Wednesday/Sunday classes, and Tuesday/Thursday home studies to

dive in to the early chapters of Luke’s Gospel. We’ll look at every single verse from the

very beginning of Luke through his story of the Transfiguration of Jesus.

The Gospel stories, as Luke wrote them under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, pointed

his readers to Jesus’ divinity. These same stories definitely point modern-day Christians

to renewed faith in our divine Savior. As we read, discuss, and study together in our

Luke’s Epiphany congregational study, perhaps we’ll discover ways to help modern-

day unbelievers to come to an epiphany of their own regarding Jesus Christ.

Materials for the home studies will be available on Grace’s website for each week of the

congregational study, beginning January 13. These studies will take about fifteen

minutes, and can be done by an individual, or with a family member or friend.

A full schedule of the Luke’s Epiphany congregational study is available on Grace’s

website. Please note that several portions of chapters 1 and 2 were covered in

December, and summaries of those sections are available on the website.

God bless you as you read, discuss, and study the Word!
