ACTS HUNGER PREVENTION CENTER UPDATE:

Since May, Grace has donated 2,492 pounds of food through the generous outpouring of donations of Grace Members.  If you would like to make a donation to Grace to purchase food for ACTS, please make your check payable to Grace with the notation in the memo area for “Social Ministry Community”.  Please continue to bring in plastic grocery bags and handle bags for the ACTS Food Pantry as these items are needed to carry food items home. Place these items in the blue bins in the hallway.  Contact Debbie Willemann if you have any questions.

GRACE GOOD SAMARITAN PROGRAM:

This program was set up at Grace to give a quick response when one of our members comes across a person in need. Whether it’s a warm jacket or new sneakers, we have a system for quickly meeting those needs. Request forms, which are kept in the church office, are presented to either Debbie Willemann or Sherry Morse. If appropriate, we then call several Grace Members who have signed up with the Good Samaritan Program to help fill that need. We have a list of more than 16 members, so when a need arises we rotate names to donate monies to purchase what is needed. If you would like to be on the list of people for the Good Samaritan Program, please contact Debbie or Sherry.

JOIN GRACE QUILTERS:

We meet on Mondays from 9:00 am until noon in the multi-purpose room. Come join us and have some wonderful fellowship while making baby quilts for Care Net Pregnancy Center and prayer quilts for our own shut-ins. If you need more information, please contact Darlene Roth.

MATTHEW 25 MINISTRIES UPDATE:

Grace continues to collect prescription and over-the-counter pill bottles every month for clinics in Africa.  Remember to remove all personal identifiable information on the prescription bottles.  All other labels can be left on. Deposit all pill bottles in the large blue container in the hallway. Please drop them at the church when you are comfortable to do so. If you have any questions, please contact Vicki Steinhibel or Debbie Willemann.

Winter COAT DRIVE:

Starting on Sunday, October 18th and running through Sunday, November 29th, the Social Ministry Board will be collecting winter coats for Concordia Lutheran Church’s clothing ministry. Please donate your gently used men’s, ladies’, and children’s coats.  Please place your donations in the blue bins in the church hallway.  If you have any questions contact Debbie Willemann.
