ACTS HUNGER PREVENTION CENTER JUNE 2021 UPDATE:
On June 15th, 549 pounds of food was purchased and delivered to ACTS. Donations from Grace, so far this year, have totaled 2,975 pounds. Thank you Grace Members for continuing to support ACTS through your generous donations. Remember to bring in grocery bags and handle bags as these items are needed to carry food items home. Any donations of food, paper products, personal hygiene items, and bags can be left in the blue bins in the church hallway. Contact Debbie Willemann (email@example.com) if you have any questions.
GRACE GOOD SAMARITAN PROGRAM:
This program was set up at Grace to give a quick response when one of our members comes across a person in need. Whether it’s a warm jacket or new sneakers, we have a system for quickly meeting those needs. Request forms, which are kept in the church office, are presented to either Debbie Willemann or Sherry Morse. If appropriate, we then call several Grace Members who have signed up with the Good Samaritan Program to help fill that need. We have a list of more than 16 members, so when a need arises we rotate names to donate monies to purchase what is needed. If you would like to be on the list of people for the Good Samaritan Program, please contact Debbie or Sherry.
JOIN GRACE QUILTERS:
We meet on Mondays from 9:00 am until noon in the multi-purpose room. Come join us and have some wonderful fellowship while making baby quilts for Care Net Pregnancy Center and prayer quilts for our own shut-ins. If you need more information, please contact Darlene Roth.
The Grace Quilters have completed quilts for our graduating high school seniors. These quilts will be presented to Michael Mortenson, Madeline Potter, and Abigail Velasquez on Sunday June 6th at the 11:00 am service. Congratulations to each of you on your outstanding achievement.
MATTHEW 25 MINISTRIES UPDATE:
Grace continues to collect prescription and over-the-counter pill bottles every month for clinics in Africa. Remember to remove all personal identifiable information on the prescription bottles. All other labels can be left on. Deposit all pill bottles in the large blue container in the hallway. Please drop them at the church when you are comfortable to do so. If you have any questions, please contact Vicki Steinhibel or Debbie Willemann.
SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE 2021:
The Social Ministry Board has received a letter from Belmont Elementary School in Woodbridge asking for help with school supplies for the upcoming school year. Belmont will not be asking their school families to purchase school supplies this year as 80% of their families are economically disadvantaged. The Board would like to help Belmont by collecting school supplies during the months of July and August. All supplies will be delivered to Belmont Elementary the week of August 16th. Below is a list of the items the students will need. If you would like to donate ANY school supplies, please bring them to Grace and there will be a bin in the hallway for your donations. Contact Debbie Willemann (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions.
